Seeking Alpha was founded in 2004 by former Wall Street analyst, David Jackson. According to the company's web site, Seeking Alpha has 80 employees on three continents and a distribution network that includes Bloomberg L. P., Yahoo Finance, Google Finance, MSN Money, CNBC, E-trade and Nasdaq.

Seeking Alpha offers stock market analysis and opinions. According to its web site, the company publishes 250 articles per day from more than 5,000 contributors including money managers and financial experts. Seeking Alpha's editorial team only publishes 25% of investment of the articles which are submitted for publication. In 2007, Seeking Alpha was the recipient of Forbes' Best of the Web Award and Kiplinger's Award for Most Informative Website. It was also recommended on Fox News by Liz MacDonald as a top investment website the same year.

In addition to investment opinion & analysis, Seeking Alpha publishes a real-time investment news blog called Market Currents. It was #1 on Inc Magazine's 2011 list of Essential Economic blogs. Seeking Alpha is the largest publisher of free earnings call transcripts - including the full earnings call and Q&A discussions - for over 1,700 public companies each quarter.
